Summarising and Paraphrasing
The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of integrating life education English picture books on self-concept, life-values and live-attitude of elementary school students. A quasi-experiment was designed for two fifth-grade classes of Happy Elementary School in Kaohsiung who were recruited as the subjects of the study. The experimental group spends 10 weeks, one class per week, total 10 classes learning the life education through the teaching of English picture books; the control group does not have the experimental treatment during experimentation period. Based on the purpose, quantitative statistic analysis and qualitative analysis are used. All quantitative data are analyzed through t-test, Analysis of One Way Variance (ANOVA), Analysis of One Way Covariance (ANCOVA), χ2-test and Pearson Product-moment Correlation. Qualitative data are collected from semi-structured questionnaire. Besides, the researcher used Unit Feedback Sheet, Program Feedback Form, and Interview Record as aided assessment tools to evaluate the subjects’ feedback on the life education curriculum.

The Classification of Rainbow Kids Life Education Course

There are four main groups of Rainbow Kids Life Education Association- Elementary school life education course. The course consists of people and themselves, people and people, people and environment, people and life level of practice by order, cognitive development, level of socoalization.


Each group may be divided into three or four units. People and themselves comprises 'to know myself', 'to appreciate myself', 'to love myself, brave and confident'. People and people comprises people live in the relationship, to know everyone’s individual differences and respect others, to love people as myself, judgment. People and environment comprises to appreciate nature, to cherish the environment, living and adaptable, the society of caring. People and life comprises to appreciate life, life and death dignity, faith and life.
